So, now you may be asking how we are going to go about helping these two projects.
Everything on the Wish Lists needs to be purchased by - or donated to - us. So, if you are a business interested in sponsoring a percentage of the bus in return for advertising on it, then let us know. If you could supply computer equipment for either project, again let us know. These are just examples.
As Bob Geldof famously said after Live Aid, "give us your ******* money", but it got the point across. You can find our details on the Contact Us page, whilst below you can find information on how to make a donation to us. However, we don't just want to ask for money. There are other ways in which you can help:
1) We are establishing the first Charity Shop in Georgia. From here we will be able to sell donated items (particularly clothing), with all income generated going towards the projects.
2) In association with Go Help, we will create the first London to Georgia Charity Rally, whereby vehicles are purchased in the United Kingdom and driven across Europe into Georgia and sold for the Charity. This is currently in the planning stage but we are looking to run this in July 2011. We intend to start in London and finish in Rustavi some 10 days later - depending on the route it can be completed in a week, but by setting up a couple of checkpoints that participants (known as 'Rallyists') have to reach in Georgia, then we hope to have everybody meet up at roughly the same time! Current thinking suggests that the Finish Line will be at the Kazbegi Beer Factory on the outskirts of Rustavi, with a black tie dinner being planned for that evening. This will also act as an opportunity to raise additional funds for the charity by holding an auction of pictures, paintings and handicrafts created by the pupils of the Day Centre. We will also be presenting prizes for Rallyists in various categories, such as most amount of fundraising achieved, most miles covered, etc., etc. Contact us for more information or details on how to take part.
